Kobe Beat Down Spurs

Manchester United wins European Champions League

Manchester United defeated Chelsea 6-5 in a rain-soaked penalty shootout to win the European Champions League title Wednesday night following a 1-1 tie.

During the match Cristiano Ronaldo scored in the 26th minute for Manchester United, his 42nd goal of the season. Frank Lampard scored back for Chelsea in the 45th, and the two sides were dragged into the penalty shootout.

Cristiano Ronaldo missed United's third penalty kick and, with a chance to win Chelsea's first Champions League's title, John Terry hit a post.

"When we missed the penalty kick, we thought we were in trouble," said United's Alex Ferguson, who led the club to its 22nd title overall since he became manager in September 1986.

On Chelsea's seventh kick, Manchester keeper Edwin van der Sar became the hero diving to bat away Nicolas Anelka's drive and give United its third European championship following titles in 1968 and 1999.

Twin is found inside her stomach

ATHENS- A 9-year-old girl who went to hospital in central Greece suffering from stomach pains was found to be carrying her embryonic twin, doctors said Thursday.

Doctors at Larissa General Hospital examined the girl and surgically removed a growth they later discovered was an embryo more than two inches long.

"They could see on the right side that her belly was swollen, but they couldn't suspect that this tumor would hide an embryo," hospital director Iakovos Brouskelis said.

The girl has made a full recovery, he said.

Andreas Markou, head of the hospital's pediatric department, said the embryo was a formed fetus with a head, hair and eyes, but no brain or umbilical cord.

Markou said cases where one of a set of twins absorbs the other in the womb occurs in one of 500,000 live births.

The girl's family did not want to be identified, hospital officials said.

Spurs will meet Lakers

The experienced San Antonio Spurs beat hosts Hornets 91-82 in their deciding Game Seven on Monday to grab the ticket for the Western Conference final against Los Angeles Lakers.

"It just happened that I made a lot of shots in the first half," Ginobili said in a courtside television interview.

"In the second, I didn't play as good but we played solid and we kept them to 82 points which is great for us. It was great teamwork."

David West top-scored with 20 points for the Hornets, who posted a franchise-record 56 victories in the regular season.

Play-maker Chris Paul, a first-year All Star, was held to 18 points and eight rebounds.

Quake cannot sink Olympic preparations: BOCOG

The massive jolt in southwest China that feared to take more than 50,000 lives will not affect either the safety or the preparations of the Beijing Games, said a senior official with the Beijing Organizing Committee of the Olympic Games (BOCOG).

Preparations are "90 percent" ready, said Zhang Jian, director of BOCOG's project management department, a coordination unit of the organizing committee.

He said with just over 80 days to go, BOCOG has fulfilled most of the 23 responsibilities and almost 5,000 tasks it set itself.

The torch relay and preparations for the opening and closing ceremonies are the priority at the moment, he said.

The torch relay is still on the road in southeast China, although it has been downscaled in the wake of the quake. A mourning ritual has been added to each of the remaining stops at 96 Chinese cities in honor of those who died.

Performers of the opening ceremony are training in secure boot camps in suburban Beijing. Rehearsals will begin in June at the Bird's Nest, or National Stadium, where the ceremony will be held.

Officials have now decided the manner in which the cauldron will be lit during the curtain raiser, said BOCOG Executive Vice-President Liu Jingmin on Tuesday.

"I am confident that the Games this summer will be he same as the Games we promised in the bidding," said Zhang, who overseas 26 departments working on the preparatory operations.

Zhang, who helped draft the Candidature File while working for the Beijing Olympics bid committee in 2001, said he is also working on BOCOG President Liu Qi's 5-minute speech for the opening ceremony on August 8.

No foreign casualties reported in earthquake

A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman said Tuesday that no foreign casualties have been reported after the strongest quake in China in three decades jolted the southwestern province of Sichuan on Monday.

"We have received no report of foreign casualties so far," spokesman Qin Gang told a regular press conference.

He said the ministry would promptly release such information t related embassies and consulates in China.

Qin said the Chinese government attaches great importance to the safety of foreigners in China, saying the ministry has contacted foreign embassies and consulates to ask if there are any casualties of foreign citizens.

The Information Department of the Foreign Ministry also expressed condolences to the resident journalists in Chongqing, a municipality neighboring Sichuan Province, he added.

Noting that the quake disaster was very serious, resulting in the damage of infrastructure and inconvenience of telecommunications facilities and transport, Qin asked journalists who wanted to go to the quake-hit area to guard against dangers and difficulties, and contact the Information Department in case of emergency.

He said the ministry would provide as much convenience as possible for journalists to go to the disaster area for reporting, and relevant departments of the Chinese government would also release the latest information on the disaster itself and the progress of relief work.

China quake death toll rises to 9,219

The death toll from a major earthquake in southwest China's Sichuan Province has climbed to 9,219, the Ministry of Civil Affairs said here Tuesday morning.

The 7.8-magnitude quake has killed 9,219 people in eight affected provinces and municipality of Sichuan, Gansu, Shaanxi, Yunnan, Shanxi, Guizhou, Hubei and Chongqing, the ministry said in a release issued at 7 a.m..

7.8 Earth Quake in SiChuan China

One of my friend in Beijing departed our office early at 3 o’clock this afternoon, for there is a small earthquake happening. She felt nothing, but her colleagues said that they felt swaggering and the water is trembling.

When she went back home she saw news on the web out of sudden that there is an earthquake measuring 7.8 on the Richter Scale in Wenchuan Country of southwest China’s Sichuan Province. It has killed 107 and injured 34 in provinces and municipality of Sichuan, Gansu, Chongqing and Yunnan by 6:00 P.M.

With a population of 111,800, Wenchuan lies in the southeast part of the Tibetan-Qiang Autonomous Prefecture of Aba, 146 kilometers northwest of Chengdu, the provincial capital of Sichuan.

Wenchuan is home to the Wolong Nature Reserve, China's leading research and breeding base for endangered giant pandas.

Minutes after the Sichuan quake, at 2:35 p.m., an earthquake measuring 3.9 jolted Tongzhou District in east Beijing. That quake's epicenter was 39.8 north latitude and 116.8 east longitude, according to the SSB.

Patapon For PSP

These days, I am playing the PSP game called Patapon, it is a so cute game for me.

Patapon is a strategy game with some great boss encounters, as well as plenty of different weapons and armor pieces to collect. But first and foremost, it's still a rhythm game. If you can't keep a beat, you'll struggle to string together combos of orders, which will result in your army standing around hopelessly anytime it is unsure about what to do. Fortunately, the game's lighthearted soundtrack (not to mention a pulsating border around the screen) is helpful in this regard, and once you settle into a rhythm, your army will even start to sing along. Patapon's audio design, like that in LocoRoco, is something that you're either going to love or hate, but even those of you in the latter camp are sure to raise a smile at times. For example, there's a baby mountain that lets out a cute chuckle when you play music on its toes in one of the minigames, and in some of the later levels, the music you've come to rely on for rhythm guidance seems purposefully composed to confuse you, which is a neat touch.

There's never been a game quite like Patapon before. Its combination of light real-time strategy and rhythm is as superb as it is surprising. Anyone with access to a PSP would do well to check it out.

Liu Xiang Won 110 meters hurdles in Japan

World record holder and Athens Olympic champion Liu Xiang breezed to win the 110 meters hurdles in 13.19 seconds in the wet and cold weather at the Japan Grand Prix here on Saturday.

It was the sixth time for the Chinese athletics legend to win in Osaka. It is the second leg of the 14-round Grand Prix series.

Liu's compatriot Shi Dongpeng finished the distant second in 13.63 and Maurice Wignall from Jamaica took the bronze in 13.84.

"I'm very happy with 13.19 in this weather and more importantly to have avoided injury," Liu told reporters. "When it's rainy and cold there is always a risk.

"I've always started my season strongly in Osaka so I hope this will be a good omen."

Forrest Gump won six Oscars, including Best Picture, over critical favorites Pulp Fiction and The Shawshank Redemption. An interesting sidelight to Hanks' Best Actor win is Jessica Lange's also set-in-Alabama Best Actress performance in Blue Sky in the same year. At first, Iwas not attracted by its title, for I do not like this sentence at all.

And I really do no think the beginning of the plot is good, for I never thought one of this quarreling couple would die.

The storied talks about a women who lost her beloved man. And I have a best friend, who too lost her beloved man.

After the women lost her husband, she lost herself at the same time. She lived in her fantasies. She always thought that her husband still lived with her. Any corner of the home has his steps. She sang hysterias like TV girls. Her house became a mess. I like this part best. For it is a vivid description for a hysterias woman, just like my friend.

What kind of movie could be good movie? Good character? Good actor? Good shooter? No. It is the plot. Good plot made character, actor and shooter successful. It is the plot which could touch the most sensitive nerve of audience.

Benefit and Skin Food

Summer is coming. It is hotter. As a girl, my consideration is how to make up naturally. To choose the right brand of cosmetics is the most important.

Recently, I fell in love with two brands, that is Benefit and Skin Food. Benefit is from America and Skin Food is from South Korea. Actually the two have many common places. They are all made out of nature, flower, fruit and so on. The flavor is so natural. When I use them, I always keep that in mind, that they come from the nature and they can take care of my skin and body.

And of course I like their brand culture. Aesthetic pictures and the stories of the brand. I really recommend them to you, for they are skin-friendly.

Have a Good Sleep

As a student, I have got a bad habit, that is sleep late in the night and get up late in the noon. Though I know that good sleep and healthy sleep habit is quite important, especially for girls.

While you are asleep, every system in your body is being fine – tuned, reset, cleaned up and restored to its optimal operating mode by an army of molecular troubleshooters. New things you have learned are being processed, memories are being organized and stored, and the immune system is building a new contingent of natural killer cells to fight off battalions of infectious agents.

Sleep is so important. Why I ignore it?

I have finished my final examination, and that means now I am not a student now, and I am a adult. I must be responsible for myself now.

Why not wake up at the same time every day. A good night’s sleep actually starts in the morning. The second your eyes flutter open, light shoots down the optic nerve and into the brains’ biological clock.

Why not give myself an hour --- the one right before bed. I need it to wind down and make the transition from the person-who-can-do-everything to the person-who-can-sleep. Unfortunately, I rarely gave myself one single second.

Put myself first. Women aren’t used to putting their needs ahead of others’, but sleep is so necessary to health and happiness, they must.

Tom Hanks says that he endorses Barack Obama because of “his integrity, honesty and ability to get the job done.” He recorded a YouTube statement that is full of historical references and clear reasons why he supports Senator Obama’s bid for the presidency.

Without directly saying it, you can read between the lines to hear his condemnation of Hillary’s antics. As a Democrat, I’m amazed at the way she’s contradicted herself, told lies, dismissed experts’ opinions that differ from hers as “elitist,” and claimed she would “obliterate” Iran. She doesn’t have the same values as Obama, and she will stop at nothing to win.
We all know that Hillary has wanted the position of President of America for many years. She is a political veteran. But Obama is fresh new to us.

I am Already Thinking of How to Decorate My Coming New House

After graduation, I will farewell to my dormatory which I share with other three girls. Instead, I will move into a new apartment. The apartment is mine and my boyfriend's. Our two's apartment!

So, now I am depicting the picture of my new house.

I like sunshine. I love the feeling of sunshine spilling on my body. So I need a large window to let sunshine in. I love light pink wall color.

Bed is an important place. I will spend at leat seven hours there. So it must be lovely and comfortable.

Cute kitchenware and tableware are required. Have dinner with lovely tableware with beloving person. WOW, it's great!

My Last Examination and Then End of Student Time

It should be a celebration or a farewell to my student time?

Through the preparation of this exam, I finally realize that students all have a common, that is they can suddenly got the meaning and logic of a term’s class in just one week, though in the pass whole term they have no idea about the content of the class at all.

Anyhow, student career ended this day. Have a cup of beer to celebrate it.

Two years ago, Tom Cruise jumped on Oprah’s couch. Two years later, on 2, May, Cruise again appears in Oprah’s program, to save his decreasing popularity, I think. It seems that Oprah and Cruise got along well, though Oprah admitted to being a little hesitant at first.

Tom explains that he jumped on Oprah’s couch because he was just “so in love” with Katie Holmes, and he didn’t know how else to express it. It is said that the reason he and Katie waited so long to “debut” Suri, and the insinuation that his marriage to Katie Holmes is fake. But he actually does admit that he’s made some mistakes and could have done some things better.

Nobody could tell the truth. The entertainment circle is just too complicated. We could never tell the truth when they are willing to or force to admit the truth.
